The WGHR thematic factsheets present background information and recommendations on 24 thematic issues for India’s 4th UPR. In an easy-to-read two page format, the factsheets present a summary of key issues raised in the previous UPR cycle, the national legal framework, challenges, issues and impacts, and recommendations for each thematic issue. The factsheets have been prepared on the basis of the WGHR Mid-Term Report for UPR III (2020), the WGHR Joint Stakeholders’s Report for UPR IV (2022) and input from thematic experts from across India. An annexe has been included with additional recommendations emanating out of a consultation held between diplomatic representatives and members of civil society in September 2022.
